DEBRIS IN CONTAINMENT RECIRCULATION SUMPS Enclosed la a Technical Review Report on the above subject. This study was initiated as a result of an occurrence at the Trojan nuclear plant, where debris was discovered in the containment sump.

Based on a review of available relevant data, the study concludes no occurrences were found to involve actual accumulation of debris in containment sumps, with the exception of Surry 1 and 2. The Surry occurrences were addressed in Information Notice No. 88-87.

At the Trojan facility, immediate corrective actions have been completed, and long term programmatic actions are in process.

Accordingly, no further AEOD action in this regard is warranted at ,

this time.
