interested members of the public to meet with the NRC staff on '

the proposed request from Portland General Electric Company (PGE) for approval to allow the one-time shipment of the Trojan decommissioned reactor vessel, together with its irradiated internals to the U.S. Ecology disposal site on the Hanford Nuclear Reservation near Richland, Washington.

W AGENDA PUBLIC MEETING NRC'S REVIEW OF THE PORTLAND GENERAL ELECTRIC COMPANY (PGE) l REQUEST FOR APPROVAL OF A ONE-TIME SHIPMENT OF THE TROJAN DECOMMISSlONED REACTOR VESSEL AND IRRADIATED INTERNALS THURSDAY, JULY 30,1998 6:30 - 7:00 p.m. Sign-up list filled out for members of the public desiring to comment or to obtain a transcript of the meeting. Each person who signs up, depending on the number and time available, will be able to make comments during the public comment period. Persons wanting to comment who did not sign up may be heard if time is still available.

7:00 p.m. Mr. Chuck Eddings, Mayor of Ranier, Oregon, opens the meeting, describes the purpose of the meeting, and briefs attendees on the agenda.

7:10 p.m. The NRC discusses the regulatory process for reviewing the PGE request t .

for approval for the proposed one-time shipment of the Trojan decommissioned reactor vessel and irradiated intemals to the U.S.

Ecology disposal site at Hanford, Washington.

7:45 p.m. The licensee describes its plans for the preparation, transport, and disposal of the reactor vessel and intemals.

8:15 p.m. Public question and answer period followed by public comment period.

10:00 p.m. Closing remarks by Mr. Eddings and adjoumment. NRC staff will remain after adjoummentif necessary.
