OFFICE OF INVESTIGATIONS REVIEW OF THE FERMI SAFETEAM (AMS NO. RIII-85-A-0176)

The review has been corrpleted and there have been no findings that invalidate any of the Region III inspections. As you are aware, prior to licensing, both the licensee and Region.III conducted thorough evaluations of the Safeteam to ensure that there were no major safety problems associcted with the existing Additionally,our review indicates that enforcement action is not concerns.

The implementation and effectiveness of the; licensee's proposed improvements to the safeteam have not been fully' evaluated.

The resident' inspectors are monitoring the licensee actions and will document these findings in routine inspection reports.

However, based on the resolution of a recent environmental /

seismic qualification concern, we will also evaluate the need for a quarterly i

update.
