Dear Dr. Morris:
f gggnatont V
sat SEtilDil In your absence last week I talked with Dr. Knuth 20ctEl MII on Friday, November 7,1969, to inform him that due to D
g circumstances whereby we were unable to have sufficient N
partnership to continue with the Seabrook Nuclear Station, plus other problems having to do with New England pooling arrangements, we were deferring the unit to a future date.
1 I asked Dr. Knuth to convey this message to you so that you would not pursue the licer. sing procedure and incur any further i
costs.
We have not at this time, and will not for some reasonable time, make a decision as to when it may be re-scheduled since we find it necessary to build a fossil unit l
to take care of our power requirements during the interim.
We appreciate very much the cooperation which you l
and members of your staff have given to us during this l
licensing procedure.
It has been an excellent relationship, and we feel that the progress which has been made has been excellent and that we could have looked forwrd to receiving a construction license to meet our plans for construction.
Sincerely yours, Ek 4 670922 L
