ALYSIS FOR !.'f!P-2 This is to confirm infomation previously furnished informally (February 11, 1932) to Phil Stoddard of your Section.

1fe have analyzed the postulated epill of the 700 gallon Decontamination Solution concentrator !!aste Tank located in the raduaste building. The nearest potential offsite user would be the !!!!P-1 pells located about 4500 feet east of the WitP-2 main plant area. Our results provide the following dilution factors (including decay due to travel tine) for the most critical radionuclides of 137 Cs, 60 Co and 90 Sr.

Using very conservative parameters, 90 Sr would exceed 10 CFR Part 20 limits at the !!flP-1/4 wells. However, the !IflP-1/4 wells withdraw water from the uppermost confined aquifer (lower Ringold Fomation) whereas M

R. L. Bangart MA!i 2 4 1932 the liquid pathway for the postulated spill is the upper unconfined aquifer.

In addition there is sufficient travel time to allow for close nonitoring of the !.7:P-1/4 wells in the event of a radioactive release fron !1NP-2 to the groundwater aquifer.

All radionuclides would be fractions of the 10 CFR Part 20 limits at the Columbia River interface with the ground rater, even with conservative groundwater parameters.
