ACTION PLAN TO RESOLVE FIRE PROTECTION CONCERNS AT WNP-2 J, , 1 .

In support of recent Region V inspection efforts at WNP-2, it was agreed , .

during a telephone conference on September 26, 1986, between Region V '

2(R. Pate) and BWR Project Directorate #3 (E. Adensam) that Region V and NRR

_ wculd take a co'ordinated approach to resolution of fire protection issues _at

- WNP-2. Attached is our understanding of the' target dates by which the agreed upon actions will be completed.

10/3/86 NRR defines " approved Fire Protection Plan." Region V commences review of issues against plan.

10/22/86 Region V trip to'WNP-2 to address issues which clearly appear to be violations. Region' V prepares ' enforcement, as appropriate. (This action is:not' contingent on NRR-definition:of plan).

11/3/86 NRR commences review of WNP-2 response to RAI.

11/3/86 NRR/ Region V meet to discussIFire Protection Plan if' 4 necessary (optional).

Early .

November Region V takes action as appropriate if preliminary.NRR. -

review indicates significant outstanding safety issues with areas addressed in RAI.

12/1/86 NRR completes review of licensee response to RAI and review:of Region V TIA dated 3/12/86. .Results forwarded to Region-V. .
