POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA BY CONTRACT EMPLOYEE At about 12:30 p.m., June 12, 1986, during a random search of a contract employee's purse at the plant entrance upon returning from lunch, a small bag of what appeared to be marijuana was found. The contract employee stated that her sister had recently used the purse and may be the owner of the bag. This has not yet been confirmed by the licensee. The employee was turned over to local law enforcement authorities. The local law enforcement authorities perfomed a test on the contents of the bag and determined that it was marijuana.
The contract employee had unescorted access to only the protected area and has been terminated from employment.
The NRC was notified at 1:00 p.m. on June 12, 1986.
The NRC's IAT and the State of Connecticut have been informed.
