Inoperability of fluid Cor.ponents Inc. (FCI) flow switches on 480 volt board room air handling units (AHUs) with slow response probes.

111. Evaluation i

TVA interviewed the engineers in instrurent maintenance for systems 30 and 31 (ventilation ano air conditiening). The engineers seid that Dryer diaphram 4

type flow switches are used cr the 480 volt board room AhUs and in most applications at Sequoyah. An ECIS listing of the FCI slow probes indicated that the proces are used on the emergency gas treattuent system (EGTS) and EGTS room coolerf.. A review of mair,tenance requests written on these instruments i did not indicate probleu similar to Watts 0&r's.

IV. Conclusion ,

The NRC statt found the TVA investigation of the concern to be adequate, and the resolution of the encern as cescribed in Eletent Report 30112 is acceptatie for restart,
