SUBJECT:

CONSIDERATION OF EARTHQUAKES IN EMERGENCY PLANNING AT SAN ON0FRE AND DIABLO CANYON During the 298th Meeting of the ACRS on February 7-9, 1985, a request was made to obtain the results of studies of the above subject at the San Onofre and Diablo Canyon Sites, and to ascertain if any foreign work has been done on this subject.

Enclosed is documentation pertaining to the two U.S. sites. To date, no foreign work has been identified but further inquiry is being made to the NRC Office of International Programs in this regard.

The 3-volume Diablo Canyon report is self-explanatory; however, a comment is in order relative to the San Onofre documents.

The principal response to the NRC Staff's December 17, 1980 and May 13, 1981 letters is contained in the Safety Evaluation Report (NUREG-0712),

Supplement No. 3.

The general material on Emergency Planning at the San Onofre Site is contained in the original document and the other Supple-ments (1, 2, 4, 5 and 6), and is provided to help put the material in Supplement 3 in context.
