The Atomic Energy Commission has issued Amendment No. I to Provisional Operating License No. DR-15. The license, as previously issued, authorizes the General Electric Campany and Southwest Atomic Energy Associates (SAEA),

with General Electric acting for itself and for SAEA, to possess, use, and operate the Southwest Exper$ nontal Fast Oxide Reactor (SEFOR) at power levels up to 1 megawatt thermal. This a:nendment authorizes (1) the operation of the reactor at steady-state power levels up to a maximum of 20 megawatts thermal and in the pulsed mode of operations, and (2) the receipt, possession, and use of up to 10 millicuries each of Krypton-85, Iodine-131, Xenon-133, 23 Cesium-137 in connection with the operation of the reactor.

Copies of the license amendment and a related Federal Register Notice are enclosed.

Three signed copies of Amendment No. 5 to Indemnity Agreement No. B-35 are also enclosed for your review and acceptance.

Please have one copy exe-cuted by General Electric and SAEA and returned to this office at your earliest convenience.
