Dear Chairman Palladino:
It has come to my attention that the Monroe County Library System, under the direction of Mr. Bernard A. Margolis, has made several attempts to obtain copies of documents relating to the operation and history of the Fermi'I Nuclear Plant. The library initially requested the Nuclear Regulatory Commission to send them these documents in a letter dated September 14, 1984.
Although a member of your staff contacted them on December 18, 1985 and indicated that the Commission was still determining the form in which these documents would be transmitted, they have yet to receive the actual documents.
These documents are of importance to the library as they are a necessary component of the history of nuclear power in Monroe County. In light of the recent problems with the Fermi II Nuclear Plant, there has been an increase in requests by researchers to study these documents. I would, therefore, appreciate any action on your behalf to expedite this process.
I am enclosing a series of letters from various staff members of the library system for your consideration. I would appreciate hearing from you regarding the conduct of this matter.
