Reactor Shutdown Due to Potential Degradation of Primary Containment Integrity On January 18, 1986, the licensee conducted a normal reactor shutdown after they discovered the potential for overstressing a containment penetration in the' event of a postulated Emergency Condenser steam line break. The licensee was reperforming the analysis on the penetration gsard pipe in preparation for a future Emergency Condenser system modification when errors .n the original stress calculations were identified. Licensee evaluation of the situation is continuing.
The State of New York has been informed and the licensee has issued a press release.
