'ON UNIT 2 On April 22, 1985, the NRC staff met with Texas Utilities'(TUGCO)- and its censultants to discuss the sampling program for cinched-down U-bolts on

. Unit 2.

The meeting'was transcribed. Attendees at the meeting and copies of all viewgraphs shown at the meeting are contained in the transcript.  ;

The meeting was a technical session ~to assist the NRC staff-in determining whether or not TU made a misleading or _ material false statement regarding a sampling program for torque on cinthed-down U-bolts. The statement,

!. introduced in the ASLB hearings,.was: '!To determine the range of torques which exist in the field, Applicants inspected the. torque of a randomly selected representative sample of cinched-down U-bolt su'pports." This p= sampling' did not include any Unit 1 U-bolts. Applicant stated'that these

.were not included because they had been painted, and it was'possible that this would invalidate the measured torque values.

This. issue is currently under staff review.
