QA PR0bRAM CHANGE AT CALVERT CLIFFS By letter dated December 1, 1988 the licensee for the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant (Baltimore Gas and Electric) proposed to change its quality assurance (QA) program for the operation of the plant. The proposed change is a reduction in comunitment in that the individual fulfilling the role of Operations Manager (per ANSI N18.1-1971) will no longer be required to hold a i

current SR0 license as specified in Section 4.2.2 of the ANSI standard.

However, he will be required to hold or have held in the pact an SR0 licensee for Calvert Cliffs per the standard.

To compensate for this change, the licensee has committed that the assistant to the individual fulfilling the. role of Operation Manager will be required to hold and maintain a current SRO licensee.

9 We conclude that the licensee's QA program changes discussed above are acceptable and that the QA program description continues to meet the requirements of Appendix B to 10 CFR 50.
