Washington, D.C. 20545 Deat Mr. Skavnolt;

/ Three signed copies and 20 conformed copies of Amendnient No. 7 to Change heq ue s t Su. 32 are enclosed. This Ar.endment provides and evaluates the res ul t a of the inspection conducted on the reactor coolant system.

In June 196S, in response to the AEC's letter request of December 1966 SSLC submit t ee a report which discussed prevention of and protection from a loss of-coolant accident for the Saxton reactor. This report included a description of plans to conduct a thorough nondestructive inspection of the pressure-cuntaining, components and piping of the reactor coolant system and a portion of the main steau system. The plans described recognized that ne aningf ul esa..ination: of syctem component.s and piping could be accomplished only wnere adequate allowances for access existed; therefore, accessibility was the basis for determining the degree of inspectability and the method of examination. Table 2.2-1 of the report tabulated the components and areas to be examined and specified the method of examination.

Except iar minor modifications in scope, the inspections outlined in

'lable 2.2-1 were conducted, and no defects or problems of the type that would cause concern for continued safe operation of the plant were found. The resuits of this inspection have been documented in sufficient detail to serve as a referencu examination for subsequent inspections.

Very truly you s, -
