Deecriptien of Change Paragraph 7 (j), page 7 - Change second sentence to read " Source range channels cover 5 decades starting no higher than 7.5 x 10-2 rr-while intermediate range channels cover fr.m 2.5 x 102 ny to 7 x 108 ny which is up to 10#. cf full power. "

Safety Consideratione If these source range channels produce less than 5 counts /second, the instrumentation will be changed to cover the range criginally specified.
In eur opinion the proposed change does not present significant hazards considerations not deceribed or implicit in the Final Safeguards Report.
3 Health and Safety of the Public It is our conclusion that the health and safety of the public will not be endangered by this change.

Description of Change Paragraph 12, page 11 - Change last sentence in this paragraph to read as follows:
"These pumps will operate intennittently as required for the purification system and for volume control of the main coolant system."
2.
Safety Considerations During steady-state operation, the charging pumps are not required for control of the level in the pressurizer, and it will not be necessary to have the purification system in operation at all timas.
As it is now worded the specification is in error in that it requires continuous operation of a charging pump regardless of whether the reactor is shut down or operating, and regardless of whether the system is in a normal operating condition or shut down with a solid water main conlant system, or shut down with the main coolant system open to the atmosphere.
In our opinion the croposed change does not present significant hazards considerations not described or implicit in the Final Safeguards Report.
3 Health and Safety of the Public It is our conclusion that the health and safety of the public will not be endangered by this change.
