Second, at LaSalle there were allegations that calibration records were altered. As a result, Commonwealth Edison Quality Assurance personnel, under the direction of the general office Quality Assurance Department, conducted special audits of all contractors at the Byron site. The audits examined, in great depth, calibration, inspection and personnel certifica-tion records. The auditors looked specifically for falsification, alterations, duplicating of data, acceptability of results, and accountability for documents. No significant problems were found.

Third, because of the allegations and problems with the HVAC contractor at LaSalle in late 1981 and 1982, extensive audits were performed of the HVAC contractors at the other two sites which in the case of Byron played a part in the decision to issue a stop-work order against Reliable Sheet Metal.
