The routine inspections ere performed prior to cech.-hipntnt.- The eccepteble a.
conditions are c'ocumente( on the "Fireshield Checkvect" R-7 and the "Cesk Shippine Checksheet", R-8.

Annual inspections are perforned every twelve months and the ecceptable conditions are-documented on the " Type B Packeping Maintenanec/ Inspection Checksheet" R-9.

An unacceptable condition is noted on thc R-7, R-8, er P-9 Checksheet erd the condition is reported to the Custodian.
d.
The Custodian initietes an R-9 Checksheet for the rcpair/ replacement activity, e.
The R-9 checksheet is used to withdraw ' ready to use' items from the Controlled Storegt Arec.
f.
If the repair /replacenent activity recuires shop fabrication, an ER ard the c
associated drawings are prepored for the 106 Shop or alternete.
p.
If the repair / replacement is for e safety related component end a procedure end/or engineering specification does not exist, the. Custodian shall initiate e Deviation Report (DR).

After thc neintenance activity is completed, the performing technician shell initfel the R-9 Checksheet and notify the Area Supervisor end/or Engineer.

The Area Supervisor and Engineer shell inspect the repair per the appropriate drawing and approve the repeir by signing the R-9 checksheet. A DR will be initiated if the repeir does not comply with the drawings.

The R-7, R-E, fonns are filed in the shipping file; the R-9 fonts are filed in the cask file.

All in-service casks shall be inspected ennually as follows:
a.
Visuelly inspect for cracks, pinholes, voids, or other defects which would significantly reduce the effectivcness of the container with speciel emphesis on lif ting ears and other high weer arees.

Confirm thet any moderefors end nonfissile neutron absorbers, if recuired, are present end are as authorized.

Verify that the closure of the container and cry sealing peskets era present, are free of drfects, and that gaskets are not proater than twelve months olt'.

Confirm that ell exterior surfeces er. clean and meinteined (painted to prevcnt rust, but not to "fiy" contemination).

Casks not used during the previous year need not be rechecked, but must be completely checked prior to the next use of1the conteiner.

All-changes must be docteented on an Engineering Change Notice (ECN) and submitted to the appropriate licensing agercy. NRC, 007, etc. by the Senior Engineer, Licensing.
