SUBJECT:

Arkansas Nuclear One - Units 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-313/50-368  ;

License Nos. DPR-51 and NPF-6 Correction to Response to Inspection Report.

50-313/89-26; 50-368/89-26 Gentlemen:

Our letter of July 21, 1989 (0CAN078918),-responded to Deviation 313; 368/8926-01 concerning completion of.the Preventive Maintenance _(PM) Program. ,

This response included tables showing the number of preventive maintenance procedures required, draf ted, and approved as of October 1988 and July 1989.-  ;

These tables were in error as the numbers given inadvertently included non-safety related procedures. -The commitment in response to the original violation (Violation 313; 368/8730-01, ANO response (0CAN118707)~ dated-November 30,1987) included only safety-related components (those:designatcd Q, F, or S) as did the Notice of Violation itself. . 'Also, the text.of ~ the deviation response accurately stated that the October 31, 1990,.complet'on r date was for procedures for safety-related and other selected components. '!

However, the numbers for non-safety-relate'd procedures were . included in the tables due to a miscommunication between' Plant Licensing and the personnel ,

responsible for the PM program'when the letter.of July 21, 1989, was '

prepared.

t The development of Q, F, and S preventive maintenance procedures is included in the ANO Business Plan as item C.2(2) with a completion:date of October 31, 1990. The program is currently on schedule to meet the' commitment.

The program status as of May 27, 1990, was as follows:
