On September 6,1979 we issued a Safety Evaluation Report based on our review of the Fire Protection Program you proposed for the Prairie Island fluclear Generating Plant Unit flos. I and 2.
On October.30,1979, November 31, 1979, and December 31, 1979, yousubmitteddesigndetails and additional information regarding certain items in the Safety Evaluation Report.
We have completed our review of this additional information.
Enclosed is our evaluation of fourteen of the items. Based on our review we consider your fire protection modification regarding all fourteen items to be acceptable. Only one additional item that pertaining to the alternate shutdown system, remains to be evaluated. This item is still under review. Our preliminary review indicates that more information will be requested before the review can be completed. We will be in contact with your staff regarding guidance for this additional information in the near future.

Enclosed is our evaluation of four-teen of these specific fire protection open items.
Based on our review, we consider the licensee's fire protection modifications regarding all fourteen items to be acceptable.
Only one additional item remains to be evaluated and it pertains to the alternate shutdown system. This review is now ongoing, but initial efforts indicate that more information will be requested before review completion.
