The proposed changes add additional requirements to the Technical Specifications for those equipment additions and procedural changes required by the NRC Staf f in their review of the fire protectin program at Prairie Island.

As noted in a letter dated September 6,1979 from A Schwencer, Chief, Operating Reactors Branch #1, Division of Operating Reactors, USNRC, no license amendment fee is required to accompany this request. We ask that these changes be issued with ati effective date no earlier than November 1, 198G. Fire protection equipment additions and procedural changes are scheduled to be completed by that date.

Exhibit A contains the proposed changes, reasons for change, and safety evaluation. Exhibit B contains revised Appendix A pages showing the proposed changes.
