REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REGARDING THE DIABLO CANYON LONG TERM SEISMIC PROGRAM (LTSP)

FINAL REPORT (TAC NOS.

55305 AND 68049)

As part'f our-review of the LTSP final report we have directed our consultants at Broekbaven National Laboratory (BNL) to conduct analyses of selected systems to compare with the analyses described in the LTSP final report.

Enclosed are reports describing the BNL analyses of the low pressure and high pressure, functions of.'the emergency core cooling system.

The two reports include comments (Section 3.3) identifying areas where the BNL results differ from the results'presented in the LTSP final report.

Each BNL report also includes a,list (Section 3.4) 'of additional information needed to complete the'eview.

To maintain our schedule for review of the LTSP final

report, we. request 'that you address each of the comments and requests for additional informatio'n in the enclosed BNL reports by February 10, 1989.

If after reviewing these questions you find that.you cannot meet the above date for all questions, we request that you inform us of this in writing by February 10, 1989, and propose an alternate date for a complete response.

The reporting and/or recordkeeping requirements contained in this letter affect fewer than ten respondents; therefore, OMB clearance is not required under P. L.96-511.
