In a letter dated December 31, 2014, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS)

Accession Nos. ML14365A207), Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA, the licensee) submitted a request for alternative PR-07 to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC). TVA proposed alternatives to certain inservice testing (IST) requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers Code for Operation and Maintenance of Nuclear Power Plants (ASME OM Code), for the IST program at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SQN) Units 1 and 2 for the remainder of third and entire fourth 10-year IST programs interval. Specifically, pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) 50.55a(a)(3)(i), TVA requested to use the proposed alternatives in PR-07on the basis that the alternatives provide an acceptable level of quality and safety.

The NRC staff is reviewing your submittal and has determined that additional information is required to complete the review. The specific information requested is shown below. The proposed questions were discussed by telephone with your staff on June 22, 2015. Your staff confirmed that these questions did not include proprietary or security-related information and agreed to provide a response in 30 days from this request for additional information (RAJ).

RP-07-1:

The license states that relief request RP-07 is for the remainder of third, and for the entire fourth 10-year inservice testing (IST) interval at Sequoyah Nuclear Plant (SON) Units 1 and 2.

Please provide the start and end dates of third and fourth 10-year IST interval at SON, Units 1 and 2.

RP-07-2:

The licensee states that "Code of Record" for the current third 10-year interval is the 2001 Edition through 2003 Addenda of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) OM Code and proposed alternative will be utilized for the remainder of the third 10-year IST interval, and for the entire fourth 10-year IST interval.

Please provide "Code of Record," for the fourth 10-year IST interval program at SON Units 1 and 2; and/or justify the use of ASME OM Code 2001 through 2003 addenda for the third and fourth 10-year IST interval as specified in Relief Request RP-07,Section II.
