SCHEDULE REVISION FOR THE REVIEW OF THE DAVIS-BESSE NUCLEAR POWER STATION, UNIT 1, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION (TAC NO.
ME4613 AND ME4640)
Dear Mr. Lieb:
By letter dated August 27, 2010, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company submitted an application pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 51 and 10 CFR Part 54, to renew operating license NPF-003, for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 (Davis-Besse), for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff. This letter is to inform you of a change in the review schedule for the Davis-Besse license renewal review.
Regarding the staffs safety review, the scheduled dates for the Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS) second subcommittee meeting on the Safety Evaluation Report (SER) and the ACRS full committee meeting on the SER are revised from both TBD to June 26, 2015, and November 5, 2015, respectively. The safety review schedule is being revised to align the staffs ongoing review of safety open items with ACRS meeting availability.
Regarding the staffs environmental review, the scheduled date for Issue Final Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (FSEIS) is revised from January 2015 to February 2015. The environmental review schedule is being revised because staff needs additional time to complete and issue the FSEIS.
