Dear Mr. Lieb:
By letter dated August 27, 2010, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company (FENOC) submitted an application pursuant to Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 51 and 10 CFR Part 54, to renew operating license NPF-003 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 (Davis-Besse), for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
This letter is to inform you of a change in the environmental review schedule for the Davis Besse license renewal review.
Enclosed is the NRC staff's revised environmental review schedule for the Davis-Besse license renewal application (LRA). The schedule is being revised because the NRC staff requires the additional time to allow for internal review of the Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) in a manner which balances the internal workload across numerous ongoing reviews.
Enclosed is the revised schedule for the review of the Davis-Besse LRA. The schedule has been updated to reflect a change in the date of the issuance of the draft SEIS and subsequent environmental review milestones.
