Dear Mr. Lieb:
By letter dated August 27, 2010, FirstEnergy Nuclear Operating Company submitted an application pursuant to Title 1 0 of the Code of Federal Regulations ( 1 0 CFR) Part 51 and 10 CFR Part 54, to renew operating license NPF-003 for the Davis-Besse Nuclear Power Station, Unit 1 (Davis-Besse), for review by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff. This letter is to inform you of a change in the environmental review schedule for the Davis-Besse license renewal review.
Enclosed is the NRC staff's revised environmental review schedule for the Davis-Besse license renewal application. The draft Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement (SEIS) is in the final stages of review and is being prepared for publication. Due to the current and projected workload of the NRC's publishing resources, the projected date for publication of the draft SEIS is being revised from January 2014, to February 2014. The new date for publishing the final SEIS is being revised from July 2014, to September 2014, to allow adequate time for the NRC staff to address public comments anticipated on the draft SEIS.
