Letter, G. T. Powell, STPNOC, to NRC Document Control Desk, "Supplement 1 to Revised STP Pilot Submittal and Requests for Exemptions and License Amendment for Risk-Informed Approach to Resolving Generic Safety Issue (GSI)-191," November 13, 2013, (NOC-AE-13003043, ML13323A183)

By Reference 1, STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) submitted the documents listed below that summarize Generic Safety Issue (GSI)-191 chemical effects bench top and tank testing performed at the University of New Mexico. This submittal resubmits the reports in Reference 1 in accordance with 10CFR50.30(b). These test reports support the STP Nuclear Operating Company (STPNOC) pilot application for a risk-informed methodology for the resolution of GSI-1 91 in Reference 2.

Test reports provided in Reference 1:

1. CHLE-005: Determination of the Initial Pool Chemistry for the CHLE Test, Revision 1
2.

CHLE-006: STP Material Calculations, Revision 1

3.

CHLE-007: Debris Bed Requirements and Preparation Procedures, Revision 3

4.

CHLE-008: Debris Bed Preparation and Formation Test Results, Revision 3

5.

CHLE-010: CHLE Tank Test Results for Blended and NEI Fiber Beds with Aluminum Addition, Revision 2

6.

CHLE-012: TI MBLOCA Test Report, Revision 3

7.

CHLE-014: T2 LBLOCA Test Report, Revision 2

8.

CHLE-01 5: Summary of Chemical Effects Testing in 2012 for STP GSI-1 91 License Submittal, Revision 3

9.

CHLE-016: Calculated Material Release to Estimate Chemical Effects, Revision 2

10. CHLE-018: Results of Bench Tests to Assess Corrosion of Aluminum in STP Containment Conditions, Revision 2
11. CHLE-019: Test Results for Chemical Effects Tests Stimulating Corrosion and Precipitation (T3 & T4), Revision 2
12. CHLE-020: Test Results for 10-day Chemical Effect Test Simulating LBLOCA Condition (T5),

Revision 2 STI 33812339

NOC-AE-1 4003075 Page 2 of 3 In the preparation of this submittal, STPNOC revised the reports to make administrative corrections, such as page numbering, table of contents reference locations, signature dates, etc. STPNOC revised Table 1 in CHLE-012 to correct the material releases for calcium, silica, and aluminum. The main point of this table was to demonstrate that the predicted release of metals from the experimental temperature profile was greater than the predicted release using the MELCOR temperature profile, and that conclusion did not change. STPNOC also removed from CHLE-012 the initially attached Appendix 1 and Appendix 2.

Likewise, STPNOC removed from CHLE-05 and CHLE-06 their initially attached Appendix A. These appendices are not needed for the test reports and their removal has no impact on the test results, conclusions, or the STP licensing application. The revised versions of each of the CHLE reports are attached.

There are no regulatory commitments in this submittal.
