SUBJECT:
SUMMARY
OF OCTOBER 6, 2009, PUBLIC MEETING TO OBTAIN COMMENTS REGARDING ENVIRONMENTAL SCOPING On October 6, 2009, a Category 3 public meeting (two sessions) was held between the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and interested public at the Magnuson Hotel, 1421 Murrays Chapel Rd., Sweetwater, TN 37874. The purpose of the meeting was to present an overview of the environmental review process for Watts Bar Unit 2 operating license application and to obtain public comments regarding the scope of the environmental review.
The NRC staff provided information regarding the status of review of the Watts Bar Nuclear plant, Unit 2 and an overview of the environmental review process (see NRC Agencywide Document and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML092870216). The public was provided an opportunity to provide comments regarding the scope of the environmental review.
Each session of the public meeting was transcribed (ADAMS Accession Nos. ML092870331 and ML092870338).
About 30 members of the public attended each session. Those who listed their names on the meeting sign-in sheet are included in ADAMS Accession No. ML092880862. No meeting comment forms were received.
