SUMMARY
- BROWNS FERRY, SEQUOYAH AND WATTS BAR NUCLEAR PLANTS, DOCKET NOS. 50-259, 50-260, 50-296, 50-327, 50-328, 50-390, AND 50-391, MEETING NUMBER 20220285 On April 12, 2022, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted an online virtual public meeting concerning Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) Nuclear Plant Annual Assessments.
The purpose of the meeting was to provide opportunities for the public to discuss the annual assessment for the period of January 1, 2021, through December 31, 2021.
In response to the COVID-19 coronavirus and updated Federal Government guidance on travel and social distancing, the meeting was held remotely through the Microsoft Teams application.
Additionally, a call-only telephone bridge line was available. The following documents related to the meeting are available in ADAMS: The Meeting Notice (ML22088A085) and the Annual Assessment Meeting Presentation (ML22080A166).
The meeting began at 5:00 PM and concluded at 5:30 PM Eastern Time (ET), which was earlier than originally planned due to lack of interaction from members of the public. There were approximately 61 attendees. Due to the nature of the meeting, no official list of attendees is included. In summary, the attendees consisted of representatives from the NRC, TVA, Tennessee state government office, Environmental Protection Agency, Nuclear Energy Institute, members of the public. NRC staff were available for questions following the presentation. NRC staff has committed to follow up with a member of the publics inquiry about the status of NRCs review of the TVA Employee Concerns Program (ECP) following the closure of the Watts Bar Chilling Effect Letter (CEL).
