James A. FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant Docket No. 50 333 License No. DPR-59 Proposed Changes to the Technical Specifications Regarding Administrative Controls for Normal Workina Hours (JPTS 97-005)-

Dear Sir:

This application for amendment to the James A. FitzPatrick Technical Specifications (TS) proposes to revise section 6.2.2.6 regarding the administrative controls for the normal working hours of plant staff who perform safety related functions.

TS section 6.2.2.6 establishes the normal work hours for operating personnel as, "...a normal 8-hour day,40 hour4.62963e-4 days <br />0.0111 hours <br />6.613757e-5 weeks <br />1.522e-5 months <br /> week..." The proposed change revises this section to provide for, "... a normal 8 to 12 hour1.388889e-4 days <br />0.00333 hours <br />1.984127e-5 weeks <br />4.566e-6 months <br /> day, nominal 40-hour week..." In addition, associated changes are being made to Sections 4.5.F,4.5 Bases, and 4.7.A.7 for administrative clarification to maintain once per shift surveillance requirements at 8 hour9.259259e-5 days <br />0.00222 hours <br />1.322751e-5 weeks <br />3.044e-6 months <br /> intervals.
