In your letter of December 21, 1989, in response to our Notice of Violation and Inspection Report No. 50-528/89-43, 50-529/89-43, and 50-530/89-43, dated November 21, 1989, you deny one example of a violation (A.2), apparently admit the other violations, and clarified some points made in the inspection report.
In addition, the letter informed us of the steps you have taken to correct the items which we brought to your attention.
Your corrective actions will be verified during a future inspection.
An editorial error was made in Violation A.2 in that the incorrect safety valve was cited; safety valve SGE-PSV-0555 should have been referenced.
In light of this error, this example of a violation will be withdrawn and our records changed accordingly.
However, since Violation A.2 is one of two examples of the violation, Violation A remains.
With regard to Attachment 2 of your December 21, 1989 letter, I recently discussed that portion of your response letter with Mr. J. Levine.
Although we are not in full agreement with several of the examples you documented, I
see no regulatory benefit in pursuing the matter further.
I continue to look forward to candid, effective communication between our respective staffs.
