Thank you for your letter dated September 12, 1986, informing us of the steps you have taken to correct the noncompliance which we brought to your attention in our letter dated July 31, 1986.

Region-III concurs that the majority of SDR's reflect maintenance items, incomplete construction, and minor construction damage requiring only tracking to assure proper resolution. Our concern is with the remaining SDR's that have a potential for undetected nonconformances affecting plant safety.

Therefore, we will conduct.a followup review of the results of your corrective action to gain confidence that nonconformances are being identified, documented and dispostioned in accordance with your Quality Assurance Manual. We will examine these matters during a forthcoming inspection.
