Inspection Conducted July 17-21,1989 (Report 50-298/89-26)

Areas' Inspected: Routine, unannounced inspection of the Physical Security Plan and implementing procedures, management effectiveness, audits, detection and assessment aids, alarms, testing and maintenance, and compensatory measures.
Results: Within the areas inspected, no violations or deviations were identified.
The inspector observed that the physical security upgrade project has been completed. The project was responsive to NRC's Notii:es of Violation. The security force has been reorganized to accommodate the new systems and reduce staffing of compensatory posts. Testing and maintenance has been enhanced to keep the security systems at peak performance. This project has provided substantial improvement to the security program.
