Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 Haddam Neck Plant Emeraency Plan Revision 38 The purpose of this letter is for the Connecticut Yankee Atomic Power Company (CYAPCO) to inform the NRC Staff that Revision 38 to the Haddam Neck Plant Emergency Plan has been implemented. /
The primary purpose of Revision 38 is to consolidate the station emergency response organization; delete references to potassium iodide due to the negligible presence of radioactive iodine; provide guidance on calculating skin dose due to Kr-85; delete reference to emergency response data system and off-site facilities information system; and perform updates to titles, acronyms, procedures, training requirements, and .
equipment. These changes reflect the permanent shutdown status of the Haddam Neck -
Plant and the reduced activity required to implement the Emergency Plan for this plant condition.
CYAPCO has reviewed the revision in accordance with 10CFR50.54(q) and has l determined that the changes do not decrease the effectiveness of the plan. This implemented revision continues to meet the intent of the standards oi10CFR50.47(b) and the requirements of 10CFR50, Appendix E. Controlled copies of this revision will be submitted via CYAPCO's controlled copy distribution process.
