Special Amendment 9A to Arkansas Nuclear One's (ANO) Safety Analysis Reports (SARs) has been issued to address Generic Letters 86-10 (addition of the Fire Protection Program into the SARs) and 88-12 (transfer of applicable fire protection Technical Specifications into the SARs).

Certain additional changes in the Fire Protection Program previously existing in the SARs have also been made under 10CFR50.59. Summaries of the 50.59 evaluations performed to support these changes will be provided under T separate cover at a later date.as part of the next Annual 10CFR50.59 Report. Amendment 9A to the ANO-1 and ANO-2 SARs is not an annual SAR update la accordance with 10CFR50.71(c).

In accordance with 10CFR5% 4(b)(6). 10 copies of Amendment. 9A to the ANO-1 and ANO-2 SARs (copies I-102 through I-111 for Unit I and 11-102 throupb Il-111 for Unit 2) were shipped to you under separate cover letter. dated October 25, 1991 (?CAN109107-and 2C.AN109107).

I hereby certify to the best of my knowledge and belief, that the changes contained in Amendment 9A to the ANO-1 and ANO-2 SARs are complete and accurate.
