Arkansas Nuclear One - Unit 2 1 Docket No. 50-368  !

License No. NPF-6 Completion of Generic Letter 89-10 Commitments for ANO-2 i

Gentlemen:  ;

l Generic Letter (GL) 89-10, " Safety-Related Motor-Operated Valve Testing and Surveillance," dated June 28,1989, and Supplements 1 through 7, provide the scope of the NRC requirements regarding motor-operated valve (MOV) testing and analysis. The generic letter requested licensees to complete certain actions. This letter is submitted for Arkansas Nuclear One, Unit 2 (ANO-2) in accordance with reporting requirement "m" of GL 89-10 to inform you that ANO-2 has completed its GL 89-10 initial implementation commitments for  !

items "a" through "h" and supplements 1-7, as applicable to ANO-2. The detailed supporting documentation is extensive and is available at ANO for review by the NRC.

The generic letter required each licensee to notify the NRC in writing within 30 days after completing the actions described in the first paragraph of item "i." which states that completion of design basis reviews, analyses, verifications, tests, and inspections must be completed within five years or three refueling outages of the date of the generic letter, whichever is later. The completion date for ANO was extended based on justification provided to the NRC in a letter dated March 19,1993 (0CAN039308). The new completion date for ANO-2 was determined to be 120 days following completion of refueling outage 2R11. Refueling outage 2R11 concluded on November 25,1995.

The initial implementation commitments for ANO-1 have already been completed.

l Notification was provided to the NRC via a letter dated August 4,1995 (ICAN089502).
