Thecondition wasreportedinNRCInspection Report50-387/79-28 and388/79-15 whichidentified severalcopedfloorbeamswhichwereburnedandcutbeyondpzescribed lines.BechtelNCR4288waspreparedonAugust1,1979todocumentthenoncompliances citedbytheinspection aswellassimilarnonconformances whichweresubsequently notedbyBechtelQualityControl.OnDecember'l, 1979,thenonconfozming conditions werenotedinBechtelMCAR1-43.TheMCARidentified 123beamssuppliedbyIndustrial Engineering Works(ZEW).Inspection resultstodateindicatetherehavebeenatotalof47beamsreportedashavingimproperradii(underradius,squarecut);seven(7)ashavingothercopingproblems(overcutlessthan12")2andeight(8)beamsthatarenotaccessible.
Inspection ofbeamsprocuredfromothersuppliers underthesamespecification (C16)isunderway.
Theresultsoftheseinspections willbeusedtoevaluatetheextentandthesafetyimplications oftheconditions.
