Shown below is the NRC staff's request for additional information. As we discussed, please provide your formal response by November 20, 2015. REQUEST FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION REQUESTS FOR RELIEF FOR THE THIRD TEN YEAR 10-YEAR INSERVICE INSPECTION INTERVAL MILLSTONE POWER STATION, UNIT 3, DOMINION NUCLEAR CONNECTICUT, INC DOCKET NO. 50-423 TAC NOS.: MF6570, MF6571, AND MF6572 By letter dated July 30, 2015, (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS), Accession No. ML15216A363), Dominion Nuclear Connecticut, Inc. (the licensee), submitted Requests for Relief Nos. IR-3-19, IR-3-20, and IR-3-21 from certain requirements of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (ASME Code), under the provisions of Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR), Part 50, Section 50.55a(g)(4), for the third 10-year ISI Program for Millstone Power Station, Unit No.

3. The request for relief applies to the third 10-year inservice inspection (ISI) interval, in which the licensee adopted the 2004 Edition, no Addenda of ASME Code Section XI as the code of record.

For Requests for Relief Nos. IR-3-19, IR-3-20, and IR-3-21, please clarify the statement that welds contained in the subject relief requests were examined "using pulse echo ultrasonic instruments and search units." Specifically, provide the non-destructive examination procedure used in the subject ultrasonic examinations (e.g., ASME Code,Section XI, Appendix VIII; or Section V, Article 4; or other).
