Shayan, The NRC staff understands your comment below and agrees that on page 80 of the safety evaluation under Section 3.4.2.2 (ADAMS Accession No. ML21262A001), the correct power factor for the main generator rating is 0.90, not 0.95. Please consider this e-mail communication as the staffs acknowledgement of the error. This e-mail will be added to ADAMS as an official agency record.

Rich, DENC has reviewed the Enclosure 2 Safety Evaluation for the subject Amendment, and had one comment. Section 3.4.2.2 states:

The upgraded MG will be rated for 1500 MVA at a power factor of 0.95 and will operate well below its upgraded capacity since Millstone 3 will be limited by its licensed RTP for the MUR power uprate.

The wording above is not consistent with Attachment 4,Section V.1.F.i of the LAR submittal, which states:

Upon implementation of the MUR Power Uprate, the generator nameplate rating will be 1500 MVA, 24 kV, 60 Hz, 0.90 power factor and 1800 rpm at 75 psig hydrogen pressure.

Please note that the DENC Response to EEEB-RAI-9 mentioned a power factor of 0.95, but this was only related to reactive loading at the point of interconnection. The wording in Safety Evaluation Section 3.4.2.2 pertains to Main Generator rating, which is based on a power factor of 0.90.
