DPR-42 50-306 DPR-60 Followup Response to Generic Letter 87-02, Verificction of l Seismic Adequacy of Mechanical and Electrical Equipment in Ooerating Reactors Unresolved issue (USI) A-46 By letter dated November 20,1995, we submitted to the NRC a Summary Report, as outlined by the SQUG Generic implementation Procedure (GIP). This letter also provided our commitment to an NRC submittal of an outlier resolution schedule within 90 days of the end of the Unit 1 refueling outage.

In accordance with this commitment, the following schedule is provided.

MECHANICAL AND RELAY OUTLIERS

• For those outliers where the resolution has been determined to be additional engineering analysis, the required analysis will be completed no later than December 31,1996.

• For those outliers where the resolution is a modification, non-outage modifications will be completed no later than December 31,1997.

Unit 1 outage-related modifications will be completed during the refueling outage for Cycle 20 reload scheduled for Spring 1999. Unit 2 outage-related modifications will be completed during the refueling outage for Cycle 19 scheduled for Fall 1998.

Also identified in the Summary Report, was the issue regarding charging pump speed control. Reviews and evaluations are still being conducted to determine the resolution 96060S0076 960531 PDR P

of this issue. We commit to having a resolution and submitting a schedule of implementation by December 31,1996.
