Nuclear Regulatory Commission Attention: Document Control Desk Washington, DC 20555 South Texas Project Unit 1 Docket No. STN 50-498 Revision 1 to Licensee Event Report 97-001 Failure to Fully Meet the Requirements of Technical Specification Surveillance Requirement 4.7.13 for Ensuring Monitored Areas Meet Their Temnerature Limits Pursuant to 10CFR50.73, South Texas Project submits the attached revision to Unit i Licensee Event Report 97-001 regarding a failure to fully meet the requirements of Technical Specification Surveillance Requirement 4.7.13 for ensuring monitored areas ineet their temperature limits. This event did not have an adverse effect on the health and safety of the public.
This revision reports that other factors affecting instrument uncertainty in addition to repeatability need to be considered for determining instmment accuracy. A more rigorous Design Criteria for Instrument Loop Uncertainty and Setpoint Methodology for use in establishing instrument setpoint and scaling values has been applied. Changes are indicated by revision bars.
