In accordance with the provisions of 10 CFR 50.4 and 50.90, TVA is submitting a supplemental change to the referenced request-for an amendment to SON's licenses DPR-77 and 79 to change the TSs for Units 1 and 2. The proposed supplemental change will revise the title for the President, TVA Nuclear and Chief Nuclear Officer to a generic title of Chief Nuclear /'

officer. This change will allow the TSs to be consistent with the current and future titles of the individual that is a responsible for the' associated TS requirements.  ;

U.S.. Nuclear Regulatory Commission Page 2 Januaiy 21, 1998 reviewed this supplemental change and-determined that operation of SON Units 1 and 2 in accordance with the change will not endanger the health and safety of the public.

Additionally, in accordance with 10 CFR 50.91(b) (1), TVA is sending a copy of this letter and enclosures to the Tennessee State Department of Public Health. .

Enclosure 1 to this letter provides the description and evaluation of the proposed change. Enclosure 2 contains copies of the appropriate TS pages from Units 1 and 2 of the referenced letter marked-up to show the supplemental change.

Enclosure 3 forwards the affected revised TS pages for Units 1 and 2 that incorporate the supplemental change. TS pages from the referenced letter that are not-included in this request are not affected by this supplemental request and should be processed as previously regoested.

The next revision of the Nuclear Quality Assurance Plan will reflect the new position title and provide a general update description of the nuclear organization. The target date for submittal of this revision to NRC is March 31, 1998.

Enclosure 4 provides a restatement of this commitment.
