50-328 SEQUOYAH NUCLEAR PLANT (SON) - TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION (TS)
CHANGE 96-08, SECTION 3.8.1, "A.C. SOURCES" in accordance with 10 CFR 50.90, we are enclosing an amendment to Licenses DPR-77 and 79 to change ths TSs of SON Units 1 and 2. The proposed changes delete Table 4.8-1, " Diesel Generator Reliability," and revise Section 3.8.1 to allow a j
once per 18 month,7-day allowed outage time (AOT) for the emergency diesel generators (EDGs).
The proposed TS change is identified in Enclosure 1. The justification for the proposed TS change is provided in Enclosure 2. A proposed determination of no I
significant safety hazards consideration performed pursuant to 10 CFR 50.92 is provided in Enclosure 3. The updated TS pages are provided in Enclosure 4.
TVA requests that this TS be considered a cost beneficiallicensing action. Extension of the EDG AOT intervalis estimated to save TVA $6,000,000cver the life of the plant.

TVA requests a 45 day implementation period for this TS change following issuance.
