CHANGE 95-22, " RADIATION MONITORING INSTRUMENTATION SURVEILLANCE FREQUENCY REVISION" l

i in accordance with 10 CFR 50.90, we are enclosing an amendment to Licenses l DPR-77 and DPR-79 to change the TSs of SON Units 1 and 2. The proposed change will extend the radiation monitoring instrumentation surveillance period in accordance with Generic Letter 93-05, "Line-Item Technical Specifications improvements to Reduce Surveillance Requirements for Testing During Power Operation," dated September 27,1993.

l l The proposed TS change is identified in Enclosure 1. The justification '.or the l proposed TS change is provided in Enclosure 2. A proposed determination of no significant hazards consideration performed pursuant to 10 CFR 50.92 is provided in l Enclosure 3. I l

TVA requests that this TS be considered a cost beneficiallicensing action. Extension l of the radiation monitoring instrumentation surveillance interval is estimated to save l

! TVA $1,008,000cver the life of the plant. This is a significant manpower saving  !

l since two-thirds of the functional tests for the subject monitors will be deleted.
