FORTHCOMING MEETING WITH GREENPEACE, NUCLEAR INFORMATION & RESOURCE SERVICE (NIRS), UNION OF CONCERNED SCIENTISTS (UCS) AND FIRST ENERGY NUCLEAR OPERATING COMPANY (FENOC) RE: 10 CFR 2.206 PETITION ON DAVIS-BESSE DATE & TIME: Wednesday, September 17, 2003 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

LOCATION: U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission One White Flint North 11555 Rockville Pike, Room O-6B4 Rockville, Maryland 20852 PURPOSE: A 10 CFR 2.206 Petition was submitted by letter dated August 25, 2003, (ML032400435) from Greenpeace, on behalf of NIRS and UCS. This petition requests the NRC take enforcement actions against the Davis-Besse licensee, and suspend the license/preclude plant restart until certain conditions have been met. The purpose of this meeting is to allow the petitioners to provide any relevant additional explanation and support for the petition requests (see attached agenda).

CATEGORY*: This is a Category 3 meeting. The public is invited to participate in this meeting by providing comments and asking questions throughout the meeting.

PARTICIPANTS: Participants from the NRC, representatives from Greenpeace, NIRS and UCS (collectively, the Petitioners), and representatives from FENOC.
