LLC Response to Inspection Report 05000266/2014403; 05000301/2014403 Reference: (1) NRC letter to NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC , Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 Temporary Instruction 2201/004, "Inspection of Implementation of Interim Cyber Security Milestones 1 -7" Inspection Report 05000266/2014403; 05000301/2014403, dated October 23, 2014, (ML 14297A487) The referenced Inspection Report (IR) discusses one licensee-identified (Green) 10 CFR 73.54 violation of very low safety significance at the Point Beach Nuclear Plant (PBNP). As discussed in the IR, the NRC has exercised enforcement discretion for this violation in accordance with the Security Issues Forum Charter. Further, the IR requests NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC (hereafter NextEra Energy Point Beach) notify the NRC of the date that compliance for this violation was achieved along with the method of compliance. The enclosure to this letter provides the requested information. This letter makes no new commitments nor changes to existing commitments. Very truly yours, Eric McCartney () Site Vice President Enclosure cc: Administrator, Region Ill, USNRC Project Manager, Point Beach Nuclear Plant, USNRC Resident Inspector, Point Beach Nuclear Plant, USNRC NextEra Energy Point Beach, LLC, 6610 Nuclear Road, Two Rivers, WI 54241 ENCLOSURE NEXTERA ENERGY POINT BEACH, LLC POINT BEACH NUCLEAR PLANT, UNITS 1 AND 2 RESPONSE TO INSPECTION REPORT 05000266/2014403; 05000301/2014403 1 page follows STATEMENT OF VIOLATION NRC letter, Point Beach Nuclear Plant, Units 1 and 2 -NRC Inspection Report 05000266/2014403; 05000301/2014403, dated October 23, 2014 (ML 14297A487) identified the following violation: VIOLATION OF MILESTONE 4 The licensee identified a violation of very low safety significance (Green) of the CSP for NextEra Nuclear, Section 2.2, "Performance Requirements," Paragraph 2.2.6, which require the licensee to implement security controls to protect the identified assets from cyber-attacks. Contrary to the above, the licensee failed to implement the NEI 08-09, Revision 6, Section 0 1.19 technical cyber security control requirements to address potential attacks promulgated by the use of PMMD, and portable equipment that could potentially result in cyber tampering of CDAs that could adversely impact the functionality of CDAs. VIOLATION OF MILESTONE 4 NEXTERA ENERGY POINT BEACH RESPONSE 1. Method of Achieve Compliance NextEra Energy Point Beach has implemented controls in accordance with the NEI 08-09, Revision 6, Section D 1.19 technical cyber security control requirements via installation of a transfer station. Implementation of this equipment was completed on April 30, 2015. 2. Date When Full Compliance Was Achieved Full compliance for the violation associated with Milestone 4, as documented in NRC Inspection Report 05000266/2014403; 05000301/2014403, dated October 23, 2014, was achieved on April 30, 2015.
