1993 Occupational Radiation Exposure

  • The attached table summarizes personnel radiation exposure by job function, workgroup, and employer for the year 1993.

The attached table and the method by which it was prepared meet the reporting requirements of Section 6.9.lb of the Palisades Plant Technical Specifications.

The exposures, derived from direct reading dosimeter (ORD), secondary thermoluminescent dosimeter (TLD), and electronic dosimeter (ED) data, were adjusted by a factor .which corrects the ORD, ED, and Secondary TLD exposure so that it is nearly equal to the thermoluminescent dosimeter exposure used in compiling the legal radiation exposure record for each individual. This correction factor is applied to each job function, workgroup, and employer

  • category on the attached table.

Special maintenance activities for the year 1993 included: extensive piping .

hanger walkdowns and repairs; removal of the boronometer piping; installation of three thermocouples on each side of the reactor vessel head; testing the incore assemblies, and; walkdowns and inspections for the Seismic Qual1fication Users Group (SQUG} project.
