Thank you for submitting information to the Massachusetts Historical Commission (MHC)regarding the proposed project referenced above. Staff of the MHC have reviewed the information submitted by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and have the following comments.MHC requests that-the NRC modify. _their finding of "no historic properties affected" (36 CFR 800.4(d)(1)),by, indicatirig.that this finding is contingent on NRC conditioning the relicensing.

The NRCsshould require asa relicensing condition that if post-license renewal land disturbance or new construction is proposed, then project plans will be provided to the MHC for review, comment, and consultation in accordance with 36 CFR 800.These comments are offered to assist in compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended (36 CFR 800) and Massachusetts General Laws, Chapter 9, Sections26-27C (950 CMR 71).
