SUMMARY

OF CONFERENCES CALLS WITH ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC, TO DISCUSS THE SEVERE ACCIDENT MITIGATION ALTERNATIVES REQUESTS FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FOR PILGRIM NUCLEAR POWER STATION (TAC NO. MC9676)

On June 6 & 15, 2006, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff and its contractor from Information Systems Laboratory conducted two conference calls (teleconferences) with representatives from Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy), to discuss the Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station (Pilgrim) severe accident mitigation alternatives (SAMA) requests for additional information (RAIs) (ML061440026). The NRC staff formally sent the SAMA RAIs to Entergy by letter dated May 22, 2006, in support of the environmental review of the Pilgrim application for license renewal. The teleconferences were held to clarify these RAIs. The enclosure contains a listing of teleconference participants.

Entergy asked questions about several of these RAIs, and the NRC staff provided information to help clarify those questions. No staff decisions were made during the telephone conferences.
