DOC GRANDGULF NUCLEAR STATION I Title: Personnel Injury 1.0 PURPOSE AND DISCUSSION

1.1 Purpose

I No.: 1o-s-01-19 EMERGENCY PLAN PROCEDURE1.1.1To provide guidance on response to, reportingof,and transferofinjured personnel under the following conditions:a.Injuredperson requiring transporttoan offsite medical care facilityb.Any injuries discovered during an emergency classification 1.2 Discussion1.2.1By agreement between Entergy Operations,Inc.andthe primary and backup.medical care facilities, personnelattheGrand Gulf Nuclear Station sustaining injuries from ionizing radiation or injuries complicated by radiation exposure or radioactive contaminationaretobe providedcareand treatment at those facilities.

Procedures and equipmentforthiscareand treatment are maintained at these facilities.

An individual whose clothing, skin and/or wounds are contaminated with radioactive material may present a radiation hazard to attending personnelinthe absence of adequate procedures to prevent the spreadofthe contaminant, orcontrolthe radiation exposureinthe event of radioactive shrapnel wound.Since radiation injuriesarenot immediately life-threatening, primary attention should always be directed to traumatic life-threatening injuries.After such treatment is rendered, the patient should be decontaminated.

2.0 RESPONSIBILITIES2.1The Manager.Radiation Protection-Is responsibleforthe implementationoftheFirstAid ProgramatGGNS.2.2The Radiation Protection Supervisor-Is responsibleforthe administration and managementoftheFirstAid Program including:2.2.1The assignmentofaFirstAid qualified individualtoeach Radiation Protection shift.2.2.2 Maintenanceoffirstaid supplies and medical emergency response equipment.

2.2.3 Transportation

of injured personneltothe hospital and contamination control measures as necessary.

An individual whose clothing, skin and/or wounds are contaminated with radioactive material may present a radiation hazard to attending personnelinthe absence of adequate procedures to prevent the spreadofthe contaminant, orcontrolthe radiation exposureinthe event of radioactive shrapnel wound.Since radiation injuriesarenot immediately life-threatening, primary attention should always be directed to traumatic life-threatening injuries.After such treatment is rendered, the patient should be decontaminated.
